Fuyuka SHINDO

Born in Hokkaido in 1975. Obtained her Master of Fine Art at the University of Ulster in Belfast, UK. Based in Sapporo, her artwork often relates to the history and the culture of Hokkaido. As an artist who is herself living in present day, through her work, she attempts to find out how we can feel the reality of the past. She participates in various art programs both domestically and abroad, including recent exhibitions such as “While remove fish scales from salmon” (Hokkaido Museum of Northern People, Abashiri, 2015) and the Sapporo International Art Festival 2014 (Chi-Ka-Ho, Sapporo, 2014).
