Spanish painter, born in Madrid in 1954. After studying in Madrid, he moved to Paris and then to New York. Currentry he lives in Madrid and Majorca. In 1986, he represented Spain at the Venice Biennale. Since the Great East Japan Earthquake he has visited himself several times to Tohoku supported by the NPO Future Iwate Organization founded by 4 therapists, and has organised many workshops with children. Two years ago he began the food project Hoshikuzu Yatai using the ingredients from Tohoku. In 2017 he founded El Instante Foundation to explore social and artistic activities widely. His works are held in the collections of Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, MOMA, New York, Solomon Guggenheim Museum, New York, and Museo National Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid.
